Stacey Phillips describes himself as a pragmatic activist wizened in the ways the wheels of commerce turn. He is an organizer of the Occupy movement in Salem, Oregon. Stacey talks about big money in politics and his trip to New York City to participate in the one year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. He takes us through some of the movements successes over its first year, including the Occupy Ports that he helped to organize that resulted in a major work stoppage that shut down the Portland Terminal in solidarity with port protests along the entire West Coast. Stacey also shares the story of fellow Salem resident Doug Boone who is making a cross country walk carrying a Congressional Medal of Honor on behalf of Veterans against war.
